Collin College students are encouraged to start applying for scholarships.
Students interested in receiving a scholarship can fill out an application at www.collin.edu/foundation/students . Applications will remain open until Monday, April 15.
For fall 2012, the Collin College Foundation awarded 384 scholarships totaling more than $337,000 in funding that has been provided through the General Scholarship Fund, donor established Annual Named Scholarships and Permanent Endowments.
According to Myrshem H. George, senior development officer at the Collin College Foundation, the college’s scholarships are not only based on merit but also on need.
Furthermore, scholarships are only awarded to students enrolled for six or more credit hours. Scholarship recipients must reapply for a scholarship every year.
