Blue Star Mothers is a national organization with local satellite chapters that collect donated items to create care packages for deployed service members. A blue star mother has a child who has served or is serving in the military.

At each session, there is a presentation on the program, which highlights admissions criteria, program expectations, career options, course sequence, and prerequisites. Dance fundraiser for 4-year-old Murphy resident Charlie White. This dressy-casual event will include an evening of fantastic door prizes, music and a variety of dances. Hosted by the Collin College Dual Credit Club and open to the public, the dance will help pay White’s ongoing medical bills from his battle against leukemia. Come have fun, bring some friends and help make a difference in a little boy’s life.

The free screening, part of this year’s “Abandoned by Reason: Six Great Fantasy Films” theme, tells the story of Pi Patel. While traveling with his family and a freighter full of zoo animals to a new life in Canada, Patel’s ship is met by a ferocious storm that causes it to sink. To survive, he must share his lifeboat with a Bengal tiger.
