*Please note: Current student organizations are required to register on OrgSync by Friday, Sept. 12 in order to maintain official recognition status and benefits.
In the fall 2014 semester, students can begin using OrgSync to join organizations and track involvement. The system will also be utilized as a tool to help organizations communicate internally.
Donna Okaro, assistant director of student life at the Central Park Campus, said student organizations are a great way for students to develop social, educational and leadership skills.
“Involvement in recognized student organizations at Collin College allows students the opportunity to network, represent the college and become engaged in service activities both on campus and in the community,” Okaro said.
Student Alexis Cullinane agrees with Okaro. She began using the OrgSync system during a pilot period and has been part of its improvement and implementation at the college.
“There is so much that goes into organizations,” Cullinane said. “As the president of a club, it astounds me. OrgSync brings everything together in one website and makes the lives of everyone involved so much easier. I am definitely excited to see these processes get simpler.”
Now familiar with the system, Cullinane will serve as one of the platform trainers at the open lab sessions scheduled to run from Aug. 9 – Sept. 4.
OrgSync open lab training sessions, open to students and employees, will run as follows:

Cullinane said Collin College expects to continue adding different college divisions into its OrgSync community, making every student and department aware of campus organizations, events and news.
“This site will truly connect Collin College students, staff and faculty,” Cullinane said. “It will serve as a central communication center for all campuses, and I think it will be really beneficial for years to come.”
