WINTERMESTER RETURNS TO COLLIN COLLEGE

Collin College is bringing back a wintertime tradition in December with the return of Wintermester, an intensive mini-semester nestled inside the traditional winter break in December and January.

After a four-year hiatus, the college is bringing Wintermester back to give students even more opportunities to earn credit. It is kind of like a summer semester … except, you know, with colder weather.

“Students can earn some additional credits like they would in a summer semester, helping them graduate faster or knock out a core class that they won’t need to take at the university level,” Director of Admissions Todd Fields said.

All three of the college’s main campuses will host Wintermester offerings from Dec. 14-18, 21 and Jan. 4-8. Students will get a short break in the middle – Dec. 22-Jan. 3 – so they don’t miss out on any holiday fun.

Fields said the mini-semester is beneficial to current students who want to get ahead in their Collin College academic plan, as well as for students who have transferred out but are coming home to visit with family. Those students can earn transfer credits to bring back to their college or university.

Check out the e-schedule for a full list of available courses beginning Nov. 2. Wintermester registration opens Nov. 17 and payment is due upon registration. For more information, contact admissions@collin.edu or visit www.collin.edu/gettingstarted/admissions .
