DID YOU KNOW THE BOOKSTORE MATCHES PRICES?

Collin College bookstores match prices with online competitors Amazon and BN.com. The bookstore has offered some clarifying details about the price matching program.

Students who find a lower price on a textbook purchased from the bookstore can get a refund of the difference, and the bookstore will also price match through the first week of class. Price matches include the exact textbook, in the same edition and format, including all accompanying materials like workbooks and CDs.

A textbook is only eligible for price match if it is in stock on a competitor’s website at the time of the price match request. Additional membership discounts and offers cannot be applied to the refund.

Price matching includes new, used and used rental textbooks. The rental periods must be the same. Digital books, access codes and special orders are not eligible. Only one price match per title per customer is allowed.

Price matching is valid with Amazon and BN.com. Online marketplaces like “Other Sellers” on Amazon, Amazon’s Warehouse Deals, “Fulfilled by” Amazon, BN.com Marketplace, as well as peer-to-peer pricing, are not eligible.

An online marketplace is an e-commerce site where products or services are provided by multiple third parties, vendors and shops, such as Amazon Marketplace and Barnes & Noble Marketplace. If textbook condition on competitor’s websites cannot be determined, the bookstore will match its rental used price. Titles listed on Amazon that are not “rented by” or “sold by” Amazon are excluded.
