Collin College volunteers joined forces with local organizations to make the most of Make a Difference Day, Oct. 22.

Twenty-eight Collin College students representing the college’s Leadership Empowerment and Development (LEAD) program and other student organizations participated in a five-hour revitalization and painting project with Habitat For Humanity North Collin County and Volunteer McKinney Center. The team was led by Dr. Terry Hockenbrough and Deborah Hall, who served as the crew chief on the project.

On the same day, Susan Evans, a professor of physical education at Collin, and 11 Central Park Campus students participated in “McKinney Make a Difference Day, Trinity Trash Bash.” The group collected 20 bags of litter and other trash items from the creek bottom of Wilson Creek in McKinney.
