TWO EVENTS HIGHLIGHT PLIGHT OF HOMELESS

Collin College’s Center for Scholarly and Civic Engagement will host The Face of Homelessness panel presentation and co-host a Summit on Homelessness with the Collin County Homeless Coalition this month.

Face of Homelessness Panel Presentation

  • 7– 9 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14 at the Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano
  • Panelists include Pam Gaiter, Collin College professor of Sociology; Stacy Brown, chair of the Collin County Homeless Coalition; Christine Ortega, community outreach director for Preston Trail Community Church; Dr. Maroba Zoeller, chief governmental relations officer, homeless liaison, foster care liaison for Allen Independent School District; Yvonne Booker, executive director, Assistance Center of Collin County; Ronni Fetzer, Wylie Coalition for Social Services and Outreach; Shanette Brown, housing and community services manager for the City of Plano and Rick Crocker, executive director of The Samaritan Inn.

Summit on Homelessness

  • 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16 at the Central Park Campus Conference Center, 2200 W. University Drive in McKinney
  • A community-wide event, the Summit on Homelessness will focus on homeless challenges and resources.
