WORKING-CLASS STUDIES ESSAY CONTEST ANNOUNCED

The Texas Center for Working-Class Studies is sponsoring its third annual student essay contest, with a focus on the theme of Working-Class Studies.

Students from all disciplines are encouraged to submit essays of any genre related to this theme. Submissions can include research essays, historical overviews, memoirs, creative nonfiction, profiles or any other genre.

The top three papers will receive certificates and awards (First: $200, Second: $150, Third: $100), and winners will present their work at The Texas Center for Working-Class Studies Conference on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017.

Guidelines for submission
• Length should be at least four pages, typed, and double spaced;
• Essays should make use of a documentation style appropriate for the discipline; and
• DEADLINE: Essays should be e-mailed to Chad Pearson (CEPearson@collin.edu) by 5:00 PM on Friday, Dec. 9, 2016.
