CONFERENCE FOCUSES ON CLASS, LABOR ISSUES

The Texas Center for Working-Class Studies Third Annual Conference will explore a variety of issues related to social class and labor issues, both historical and contemporary. The conference will be from 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23 in the Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center.

Noted scholar Dr. David Roediger, Foundation Professor of American Studies and History at The University of Kansas, will serve as the keynote speaker. Dr. Roediger’s recent books include “Seizing Freedom: Slave Emancipation and Liberty for All,” “How Race Survived U.S. History, “The Production of Difference” (with Elizabeth Esch), and “The Wages of Whiteness: Race and the Making of the American Working Class.”
