YOU CAN NOW UPDATE YOUR STUDENT INFORMATION PREFERENCES ONLINE

Do you know who can view your student information?

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) gives you control over who can access information like grades and transcripts.

Beginning in Spring 2017, students may complete the online Release of Student Information form to designate what information can be released to third parties, and who is authorized to view and retrieve copies of various documents.

To access the Release of Student Information form, follow these steps:

  1. Login to CougarWeb.
  2. On the Home tab, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on Review FERPA Authorizations.
  3. Select whether you want to release or restrict access to various pieces of your directory information.
  4. Enter names of people who may review and receive copies of confidential information, including grades and transcripts.
  5. Click “Submit.”

You can change this information at any time. Permissions recorded on this form will remain in effect until you change them.
