GIVE YOUR SEMESTER A BIG MUSICAL FINISH

Looking for a way to relax before finals begin? How about taking in a show? The Collin College theatre and music departments have several shows to see.

Collin Theatre Center closes out its 2016-2017 season with “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” which opened April 29 in Spring Creek Campus’s Black Box Theatre.

Directed by Collin College Professor of Theatre Robin Armstrong, “Spelling Bee” is a six-time nominated Tony Award winning musical that tells the story of five eccentric kids vying for first prize, bragging rights and, most importantly, a trip to the national spelling bee competition.

“Mathlete, athlete, theatre geek or cheerleader, whatever your school days legacy, you’ll connect with the plucky courage and got-to-win energy of these spelling bee contestants,” Armstrong said.
