Collin College Presents “Heathers: The Musical”

February 20, 2018 – Collin College’s Theatre Department will present the dark comedy Heathers: The Musical, March 6-11 in the John Anthony Theatre on the Spring Creek Campus. Tickets range from $5-15.

Adapted from the cult-film Heathers, written by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe, the musical follows Veronica, a brainy, beautiful misfit who hustles her way into the most powerful and ruthless clique of Westerberg High. When a new boy, J.D., enters the picture, everything is thrown into a tailspin.

Directed by Robin Armstrong, this production is a fearless look at the joys and angst of high school.

“This theatrical experience has been a cult favorite among students,” Armstrong said. “Heathers: The Musical includes a darkly comedic take on the high school experience of our current generation. Issues such as bullying, homophobia and exclusive cliques are still prevalent in high school today, and Heathers helps to shed a light on the challenges high school students still face in 2018.”

Due to adult language and sexual situations, Heathers: The Musical is intended for mature audiences.

Performances are: 8 p.m., March 6-10; and 2:15 p.m., March 10-11. Spring Creek Campus is located at 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway in Plano. For more information or tickets, contact the Theatre Department at 972.881.5809 or visit www.collintheatrecenter.com.
