Collin College Hosts Healing Via Movement Workshop

March 6, 2018 – Free and open to the public, The Dignity Initiative will host the interactive workshop “Dancing Saved My Life: Healing Through Movement” from 6-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 20 at the Spring Creek Campus Conference Room, 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway, in Plano.

Jill Simpson, director of the Body Mind and Movement Program in Canada, will conduct an interactive performance workshop focusing on the power of movement to affect disease and trauma in the brain. Simpson is the developer of two innovative programs which use dance-based movements as powerful tools to help people struggling with cognitive and neurodegenerative issues.

The Dignity Initiative is a Collin College-based organization which works to raise awareness and inspire action on issues of violence against and oppression of women. For more information about The Dignity Initiative and upcoming events, visit www.collin.edu/community/dignity/.
