THE ARTS gallery Hosts The Alternative Processes and Integrated Media Competition

THE ARTS gallery Hosts The Alternative Processes and Integrated Media CompetitionJanuary 8, 2019 – THE ARTS gallery will host The Alternative Processes & Integrated Media Competition, from Jan. 22-Feb. 13. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

Texas Photographic Society and Collin College collaborate to host this juried group exhibition focusing on imagery derived from alternative photographic processes and historical printing methods, as well as photographic image-making techniques that incorporate traditional mediums such as printmaking, ceramics or painting. The juror for this exhibition will be Christopher James, an artist, author, university professor and director of the MFA in Photography and Integrated Media program at Lesley University – College of Art and Design in Cambridge, Mass. 

Artists Selected include: Barbatype, David Bartlett, Coni Batlle, Diana Bloomfield, Cynthia Bittenfield, Martha Casanave, Douglas Collins, Bridget Conn, Kaitlyn Danielson, K.K. DePaul, Anne Eder, Ellen Erikson, Diane Fenster, Patrick Flanagan, Cynthia Fleury, Anna Fritzel, Stephanie Gerhart, Ryan Gillespie, Steven Goff, Patricia Howard, Fiona Howarth, Diana Nicholette Jeon, Matthew Klos, Lindsay Koontz, J. Jason Lazarus,Christine Lenzen, Melody Locke, Travis Lovell, Molly McCall, Caroline Minchew, Crystal Murley, Daniel O’Neal, Lindsey Palmer, Emilija Petrauskien, Michelle Rogers Pritzl, Kathryn Reichert, Lesha Maria Rodriguez, Sara Silks, Pricilla Smith, DorRae Stevens, Naomi Vanderkindren and Cara Lee Wade.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a lunch and join faculty, staff and students for the ART CAFÉ Brown Bag Series in the gallery with a guest speaker from 1-1:45 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7. A reception is planned from 4-7 p.m. the same day.
