2019 Military Friendly School Award

Collin College Named a Military Friendly School For The Fourth Consecutive Year

February 14, 2019 – Collin College has been designated a Military Friendly® School for the fourth year in a row by VIQTORY.

Collin College was awarded the designation based on an evaluation of the district’s public and self-reported data in areas including retention rate, graduation rate, job placement, transfer rates and participation in federal programs for veterans. Collin College was noted for its exceptional work in the areas of “Academic Policies and Compliance” and “Culture and Commitment.”

“Collin College values its student veterans and is committed to creating a welcoming environment with the academic services and the comprehensive resources to assist them in achieving their educational goals.” Collin College Executive Vice President Dr. Brenda Kihl said. “We are very proud of the continued recognition of our efforts by VIQTORY.”

The 2019-2020 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May issue of G.I. Jobs magazine, a publication of VIQTORY. The list can also be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

Collin College serves more than 55,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates. The only public college based in Collin County, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and work force development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which serves 3,500 additional students each year in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M Commerce, Texas Tech and the University of North Texas.
