Collin College Takes Applications for New RN-to-BSN Program

Oct. 3, 2019 – Collin College is currently taking applications for the new RN-to-BSN program, which will begin in January 2020. To commemorate the college’s 35th anniversary, the inaugural Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) class is limited to 35 individuals.

With the lowest tuition in the state of Texas, Collin College’s RN-to-BSN program offers a cost-effective, friendly, and face-to-face learning experience that accommodates nurses’ busy work schedules.

According to Dr. Betty Veasy, Collin College director of the RN-to-BSN program, area hospitals that are working toward obtaining magnet status may require nurses to hold BSN degrees.

“The college’s BSN degree is unique because nurses can schedule their clinical requirements at times that best suit their schedules, and they can also earn a Sigma Theta Tau Nurse Manager Certificate. In addition, nurses can attend the RN-to-BSN program part time. Whether nurses choose to return to school part time (one day per week) or full time (two days per week), we know they will be glad they chose Collin College,” Veasy said.

The college will be offering the following RN-to-BSN information sessions in the Cary A. Israel Health Sciences Center at the college’s McKinney Campus (Central Park), 2200 West University Drive in McKinney.

  • 5-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in room H351
  • 9-10 a.m. on Tuesday Oct. 15, in room H353
