Collin College Announces Leadership Appointments

May 21, 2019 – Collin College recently approved the following leadership appointments.

Dr. Sherry Schumann, Senior Vice President for Academic, Workforce, and Enrollment Services at Collin College
Dr. Sherry Schumann

Dr. Sherry Schumann has been appointed executive vice president of Collin College. She served as the interim executive vice president from March to April and previously served as the senior vice president from 2015-2019. Schumann has also served as the vp/provost of the McKinney Campus, the interim vp/provost of the Plano Campus and the associate vice president of Distance and Weekend College. She holds a B.S. and M.S. in physical education from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in higher education from the University of North Texas.

Dr. William King

Dr. Bill King has been appointed vp/provost of the Collin College Technical Campus. He served Collin College as executive director of facilities and construction from 2016-2019. Previously, he served as the executive director of facilities and construction (auxiliary services) for Tyler Junior College. King holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Texas A&M University, an M.B.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Ph.D. in higher educational administration from Texas A&M University.

Dr Jane Leach

Dr. Jane Leach has been appointed dean of nursing. She previously served as division chair of the nursing program for North Central Texas College from 2017-2019 and was coordinator of the M.S.N. nurse educator program and associate professor at Midwestern State University from 2005-2017. Leach is a certified maternal newborn nurse and a certified nurse educator. Leach has a B.S.N. from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, a M.S.N. in nursing education from Midwestern State University and a Ph.D. in postsecondary adult education.
