April 7, 2020 – Wendy Gunderson, dean of academic affairs of the Collin College Frisco Campus (Preston Ridge), is among 26 college administrators that will be recognized by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society during the PTK Catalyst 2020, the organization’s annual convention, which will be held virtually April 16-17.

The Distinguished College Administrator Awards are presented to college vice presidents, deans, or directors serving at post-secondary institutions who have shown strong support of student success on their campus by recognizing academic achievement, leadership, and service among high-achieving students.

“I’m so grateful and honored to receive this recognition for doing something I’m passionate about–supporting students,” Gunderson said. “It is my privilege to be part of this remarkable organization and use my strengths to foster student achievement.”

Gunderson was also selected for induction into the Texas Hall of Honor for College Administrators for the Texas Region of Phi Theta Kappa. The Texas Region recognized Gunderson for her outstanding support of Phi Theta Kappa, specifically the Texas Region, at the 2020 Awards Banquet and Gala on March 7.

“We are thrilled that Dean Gunderson is being honored for her dedication to PTK and students,” said Dr. Don Weasenforth, VP/provost of the Frisco Campus. “She is an exceptional educator and leader who devotes herself entirely to others.”
