COUGARQ IN FULL SWING

CougarQDuring its first two weeks of operation, CougarQ, Collin College’s new virtual queuing system that helps students maximize their time by eliminating the need for waiting in lengthy physical lines, registered more than 11,000 service transactions.

Students who need to speak with admissions, advising, the international office or financial aid can sign up in a virtual line through the college’s website at www.collin.edu/CougarQ or via phone by texting “collincpc,” “collinprc” or “collinscc” to 310.494.2718. Standard text rates may apply. Sign-in is also available at conveniently located CougarQ campus kiosks. When it is time to meet with a staff member, the system notifies the student using an automated message and by posting to a designated CougarQ campus monitor.

Tori Hoffman, academic advisor at the Central Park Campus, said she has received very positive student feedback regarding CougarQ. “Students like knowing the wait time and not being tied to the office,” Hoffman said. “One student was really excited when he signed in at work and was next in line by the time he got here.”

CougarQ opens each day at 8 a.m. Students who enter a queue prior to 8 a.m. will not be added to the system until it is activated. For specific advising office hours, visit www.collin.edu/gettingstarted/advising. For more information about CougarQ, email Doug Willis at dwillis@collin.edu.
