QEP VIDEO CONTEST

With Collin College’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), students can take control of their academic courses and career path and win gift cards to further their academic studies.

Through the QEP Video Contest, students can create a video explanation of the fourth Student Learning Outcome, “Know the degree requirements for completion,” from the new Academic Planning Syllabus. Copies of the Academic Planning Syllabus are available at each campus in the Advising Office or online at http://www.collin.edu/aboutus/qep/index.html.

The video should excite fellow students about planning for their future.  Students entering should be sure to note how it is important to understand the requirements for completing a degree or certificate.

To enter, send the video or YouTube link along with your name and phone number to news@collin.edu by Wednesday, Oct. 15. The first place winner will receive $600 in gift cards to the bookstore, and second and third place winners will receive $300 and $150 gift cards respectively.

Winners will be announced Monday, Oct. 20. Winning entries will be posted on the college’s social media platforms and on TV screens across campuses. Entry is limited to one submission per student. Length should not exceed three minutes.

Collin College’s QEP theme is “There’s a Map For That!” Students can use the QEP to map a pathway to goals, such as staying on track to completion and determining whether the ultimate goal is to transfer to a university or learn new skills for a current job.

Skills developed from participating in the QEP will allow students to create a new map for the next level of achievement, even after graduating from Collin College.
