Collin College, WGU Texas Partner to Eliminate Transfer Barriers For Students Who Seek Four-Year Degrees

Sept. 29, 2021 – Collin College and WGU Texas announced a partnership to support students seeking bachelor’s degrees after completing their associate degrees. The partnership creates pathways for Collin College students, graduates, and employees to work toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree and further their education through WGU Texas.

“Collin College is dedicated to providing excellent educational opportunities,” said Collin College District President Dr. Neil Matkin. “We are excited to establish this new partnership with WGU Texas and provide additional options for our students and employees to earn degrees.”

This is the first transfer agreement between Collin College and WGU Texas, and it streamlines the process for Collin College graduates pursuing a bachelor’s or a master’s degree through WGU Texas. Through the agreement, students who graduate with Collin College associate degrees, faculty, and staff can choose from more than 60 accredited bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

“This agreement addresses our community’s needs,” said Collin College Board of Trustees Chair Andrew Hardin. “It not only helps our students and employees, but it will also provide much needed additional professionals for area businesses and industry.”

Transfer students receive special benefits including:

  • A five percent tuition discount for up to four terms.
  • Exclusive partner scholarships, valued at up to $2,500, credited at $600 per term.
  • Comprehensive and seamless transfer policy.
  • All completed courses at Collin College with a C or higher are automatically accepted.
