Collin College Hosts Presentations on Sex Trafficking and Domestic Violence

Oct. 6, 2018- Free and open to the public, Collin College will host two presentations at three different campuses in October addressing the topics of sex trafficking and domestic violence.

  • Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 6-8 p.m. “Sex Trafficking:  A Growing Epidemic”

    Frisco Campus Conference Center, 9700 Wade Blvd.

    Speakers include Mandy Goodall, program director for the Poiema Safe House, where survivors of sex trafficking can be guided through recovery; George Lynch, CEO Of Traffick911; and Matt Osborn from Operation Underground Railroad.

     

  • Thursday, Oct. 18 from 4-6 p.m.“First Response is more than CPR: Signs of Sex Trafficking & Domestic Violence” McKinney Campus Conference Center, 2400 Community Ave

    Speakers include Scott Donaldson, director of the Collin College Law Enforcement Academy; Sarolyn Morgan, victim assistance specialist for Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcements (HIS-ICE); Sally Pretorius and Pricilla Camacho of the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) and Colette Copeland Williams of Traffick911. The panel discussion and closing will feature Greg Cox, Collin College EMS faculty, and Robin Bowles, a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (S.A.N.E.)

     

  • Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m.  “Sex Trafficking:  A Growing Epidemic”

    Plano Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 East Spring Creek Parkway

    Presenters will define sex trafficking, the various aspects of this issue and the role agencies play in addressing this growing epidemic. 

    Speakers include George Lynch of Traffick911 and agent W.J. Loaring-Clark with the FBI.
