Lecture Explores Power, Beauty of Volcanoes

October 18, 2018 – Witness the awesome beauty and terrible destructive power of the Earth’s volcanoes at the next Passport to the World presentation, Thursday, Nov. 1, 1-2:15 p.m. in Collin College’s Plano Campus Living Legends Conference Center. This “Passport to the World” event is free and open to the public.

Why do volcanoes form in certain geographic areas? Can an eruption on the other side of the Earth affect us in Texas? Join Professor Mike Cohick for an explosive lecture exploring iconic volcanoes from around the globe and examining the historical impacts of major eruptions.

Passport to the World is a free event series led by Collin College faculty and staff members who have traveled to a variety of global locations and share their newly-acquired knowledge about different cultures, art forms, architecture, music, religions, political systems and more.
