Collin College Accepts Board of Trustees Applications

January 2, 2019 – Collin College will accept applications to run for Board of Trustees Places 2, 4, 5 and 6 from Wednesday, Jan. 16 through Friday, Feb. 15. The corresponding election will take place on Saturday, May 4.

The nine-member, at-large board helps shape Collin College’s future by determining the college’s vision, setting policy and making decisions on major issues that affect the college. Elections in places 4, 5 and 6 are for six-year terms which begin in May 2019 and continue through May 2025. The election for place 2 is for a four-year period from May 2019 through May 2023, completing the remainder of a six-year term.

Interested applicants must file the appropriate documents with deputy election secretary Kristy Horkman by 5 p.m., Friday, Feb. 15 at the Collin Higher Education Center, 3452 Spur 399, Suite 400 in McKinney. The candidates elected for Places 2, 4, 5 and 6 will be sworn in at the regular Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
