Today, Jan. 9, is Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, a day designated to show support and appreciation for the men and women who dedicate themselves to the protection of our citizens and the safety of our communities.

At Collin College we are fortunate to have an experienced team of commissioned law enforcement officers serving in the Collin College Police Department. They patrol our campuses and respond to calls for assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and do so with the highest level of professionalism and skill.

At our Law Enforcement Academy, we prepare cadets for careers in the field and provide ongoing training for personnel from local, state and federal law enforcement agencies. With the opening of the Public Safety Training Center in McKinney last fall, that instruction and support now takes place at one of the finest law enforcement training facilities in the nation.

To all of our law enforcement officers, cadets, and training personnel, thank you for your dedication and courage. We are grateful for your commitment to the vision, mission, and core values of Collin College, and to the service and safety of your fellow citizens. You have our appreciation and support, this day and every day. We salute you.
