February 6, 2019 — Collin College continues to be recognized as one of Dallas/Fort Worth’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For® by the National Association for Business Resources. The college district was honored by the NABR for the fourth year in a row at an awards ceremony Jan. 29 in Dallas.
The honor recognizes organizations which practice innovative strategies and represent best practices in a variety of human resource measures, based on anonymous surveys conducted by an independent research firm. The survey looks at categories including: compensation, benefits and employee solutions; employee enrichment, engagement and retention; employee education and development; recruitment, selection and orientation; employee achievement and recognition; communication and shared vision; diversity and inclusion; work/life balance; community initiatives; and strategic company performance.
“Collin College’s environment of inclusivity and responsiveness to employee needs begins with our Board of Trustees’ leadership and continues through everything the college does,” Collin College District President Dr. Neil Matkin said. “We believe that a positive and productive work environment allows our faculty and staff to best focus on our students’ needs.”
The companies selected for this honor keep their employees needs at the forefront of their policies, according to Jennifer Kluge, president and CEO of National Association for Business Resources.
“Companies that recognize that their employees are the key to their success achieve staying power,” Kluge said. “Our 2019 winners create their human resource standards to ensure employee satisfaction and they set standards for every business to aspire toward.”
The “Best and Brightest Companies to Work For®” is a national program with annual symposia and award galas presented in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Houston, Milwaukee, San Diego and San Francisco. The college was honored alongside other winners at a gala on Jan. 28 at the Dallas Marriott Quorum.
