Plano East Health Sciences Academy students who have completed the Certified Nursing Assistant pathway volunteered as mentors for this year's Collin College Nurse Camp, June 8-10. This is the first year the students (seated in uniforms) have assisted in the camp, which gives high school students the chance to learn about nursing careers.

Attend the Collin College Health and Safety Fair

March 19, 2019- Discover new ways to make healthy choices at Collin College’s 14th annual Health and Safety Fair. Free and open to the public, the fair will take place from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday, March 29 at the Collin College McKinney Campus Conference Center, 2400 Community Avenue.

This year the fair will offer free health screenings including glucose, spinal, blood pressure, hearing, body fat checks and HIV testing. Blood donations will be taken on site. Educate yourself on healthy eating, exercise options and other wellness activities at the fair. Representatives from dozens of local health care providers, wellness facilities and Collin College health sciences programs will be on hand to answer questions and provide services.

Safety demonstrations, including the proper use of a fire extinguisher, car seat installation and the chance to wear “drunk goggles” will be offered. Local emergency service vehicles including a helicopter, a fire truck and an ambulance will be positioned for viewing by the public, and visitors will have the opportunity to tour Collin College’s Cary A. Israel Health Sciences Center.
