Two Collin College basketball players, Tajzmel Sherman and Destiny Thurman, have been named National Junior College Athletic Association All-Americans.

Collin College Basketball Players Named All-Americans

April 17, 2019 – Two Collin College basketball players have been named National Junior College Athletic Association All-Americans.

Tajzmel Sherman and Destiny Thurman were named Second Team All-Americans in men’s and women’s basketball for the 2018-19 season. Sherman has played two years for Collin College. Thurman was a freshman this season.

Sherman scored 25.9 points per game in 2018-19, finishing fourth for most points overall in NJCAA Division I. He finished 15thnationally in field goals made and 14th in free throw percentages, with an 87.5 percent average. Sherman contributed 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Thurman scored 16.1 points per game with a 46.6 percent field goal average in 2018-19. She shot 31.2 percent from three-point territory including a couple of half-court buzzer-beaters. She also averaged 3.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
