Collin College Technical Campus Will Fill Multiple Needs

The future of workforce education for high-demand, high-wage careers is coming to Allen with the Collin College Technical Campus being built next to the Allen ISD STEAM Center.

When it opens in fall 2020, the Collin College Technical Campus will be the premier workforce education facility in the area and will include dual credit opportunities in the core curriculum and trade skills areas.

Built with an eye toward the future of Collin County’s growing industrial and trade needs, the campus will feature labs and classrooms dedicated to advanced technology careers in fields like automotive service, collision repair, construction management, health sciences, HVAC, welding, industrial automation and more.

The three-story, 340,000 square-foot campus will provide training on tools and equipment students will find when they start work. They will also learn from professors who have been successful in those trades. Internships will be incorporated so that students have an opportunity to “experience” the professions and the work environment.

In addition to workforce education, Allen ISD partnered with Collin College to incorporate dedicated dual credit space for Allen High School students. The classroom and lab spaces will exclusively house dual credit programs for Allen High School students from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. during the school year. Collin College will use the space when Allen High School classes are not in session, providing night and weekend educational opportunities for other students.
