Collin College Holds IT Center Ribbon Cutting at Frisco Campus

Oct. 8, 2021 – Collin College held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Oct. 7 to celebrate the opening of the new IT Center at the Frisco Campus. The center is the central location for the college’s

Located at the Frisco Campus at 9700 Wade Blvd., the state-of-the-art facility is 92,000 square feet and can support up to 2,000 students. The center provides more than 800 computing devices to support technology programs.

While fall classes began Aug. 23, Thursday’s evening event marked the official opening celebration of the IT Center.

“We are excited to continue to bring innovative educational opportunities to Collin County residents,” Collin College District President Dr. Neil Matkin said. “We are looking forward to the impact the IT Center will bring not only to the city of Frisco but throughout our county.”

IT Center classrooms and labs are designed for collaborative learning. In addition, virtual reality/augmented reality spaces and a video production lab will enhance students’ educational experiences.

“It has been wonderful to see all the students and faculty work and learn in this new center that houses all of Collin College’s IT programs,” said Andrew Hardin, Collin College Board of Trustees Chair. “More than 1,000 students are taking classes in this building and receiving a leading-edge education.”
