Collin College Named Military Friendly School for Seventh Year in a Row

March 18, 2022 – Collin College has been named a Military Friendly® School for the seventh year in a row. The college has been awarded the “Silver” rank among large community colleges for 2022-2023.

More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey performed by VIQTORY, publisher of G.I. Jobs® magazine. Colleges earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey.

Collin College exceeded benchmarks set by Military Friendly® in the areas of Academic Policies and Compliance, Admissions and Orientation, Culture and Commitment, and Military Student Support and Retention, with exceptionally high ratings in Financial Aid and Assistance, and Graduation and Career.

“Collin College values its student veterans and is committed to providing an academic environment where they can achieve their educational goals,” said Alan Pixley, director of Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs for Collin College. “This recognition as a Military Friendly® School reflects that commitment, and we are thankful to be honored.”

The 2022-2023 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs® magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.

About Military Friendly® Schools

The Military Friendly® Schools list is created each year based on extensive research using public data sources from more than 8,800 schools nationwide, input from student veterans, and responses to the proprietary, data-driven Military Friendly® Schools survey from participating institutions. The survey questions, methodology, criteria, and weighting were developed with the assistance of an independent research firm and an advisory council of educators and employers. The survey is administered for free and is open to all postsecondary schools that wish to participate. Criteria for consideration can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com.
