Auteur Film Series Presents “The Devil Wears Prada”

March 2, 2023 – Collin College’s 2022-23 Auteur Film Series continues with “The Devil Wears Prada,” Thursday, March 16 at 7 p.m. at the Angelika Film Center in Plano. The showing and film series is free and open to the public.

“The Devil Wears Prada” takes a fictionalized look at the world of fashion magazine publishing with a story loosely based on Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue. Starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep, the film explores the role of print media in setting trends and the difficult decisions faced by people involved in the cut-throat world of fashion media.

The Auteur Film Series presents classic, foreign, and independent films with brief educational introductions before the screenings and faculty-led panel discussions afterward. The film series is designed to challenge the viewer’s intellect and encourage conversations that engage students in civil discourse. This year’s film series theme is journalism.

The films will all be shown at 7 p.m. Doors open 30 minutes before each film begins, and seating is limited. Some material may not be suitable for all audiences. The Angelika Film Center – Plano is located at 7205 Bishop Road in Plano.
