Collin College Offers Self-Defense Symposium

April 11, 2019- Learn about self-defense and safety from a police officer, martial arts experts and a Collin College administrator in an interactive self-defense symposium from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 at the college’s Plano Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy.

Free and open to the public, this Dignity Initiative interactive presentation focuses on specific methods for students to be safe in their environment and addresses defensive tools/methods to defend against an assault. Presenters Officer Chris Bianez of the Plano Police Department, Diane Reeve of Vision Martial Arts and martial arts expert Malcolm Austin will address safety techniques. Terrence Brennan, Collin College District dean of students, will lead a discussion regarding the college’s policies and efforts to continually provide a safe environment on campus. Refreshments will be served.
