What is the Collin Higher Education Center, and where is it located? 

CHEC is a Collin College site located in McKinney which houses five university partners who offer many classes which lead to various bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

Who are Collin College’s partner universities? 

Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman’s University, University of North Texas, and The University of Texas at Dallas.

How can I register for Collin partner university classes offered at CHEC?

If you are not yet a student of one of the partners, you must first apply for admission to that university, then contact the university representative at CHEC for more assistance. Call 972.599.3100 for more information.

Which degree programs are offered at CHEC?

BACHELOR’S DEGREES:

Accounting, Business Administration, Child Development Studies (Elementary Education), General Studies, Human Sciences, Nutrition, Psychology, Political Science, Spanish, Social Work, Sport and Recreation Management, University Studies and BAAS concentrations in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Business Management, Marketing, and Sociology

MASTER’S AND DOCTORAL DEGREES:

Accounting, Business Administration, Counseling, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration, Healthcare Administration, Higher Education, Public Administration, Social Work

The university partners offer many night and online courses along with a growing number of day courses at the Collin Higher Education Center.

What is a preadmission partner, and what is the benefit of signing up?

A preadmission partner is one of 10 university partners who each offer participants varying benefits which may include academic advising, library use, waived application fees, guaranteed university admission with earned AA or AS, student discounts to events and other great incentives.

What is a transfer fair, and are there any coming up soon?

Many universities from Texas and other states visit the Collin College campuses to inform students about their programs, admissions, enrollment and more.  Check out the spring schedule for transfer fairs below.

January 25 – Spring Creek Campus atrium, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., and 4-6 p.m.

February 6 – Preston Ridge Campus Founders Hall atrium, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

February 14 – Central Park Campus atrium, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
