Reading glasses on job listing page

ON THE JOB

Through the Counseling and Career Services Office, Collin College offers a way for students to look for jobs in the comfort of their own home or classroom.

With Cougar Student Jobs, students can look through hundreds of job listings.

“It really saves students a lot of time. Instead of driving around town, they can download the listings and look at more than 300 jobs from many local employers,” said Coordinator of Job Development and Career Services Elaine Stewart.

About 80 percent of the employers listed on Cougar Student Jobs have posted jobs before and hired students, Stewart said.

Students can also search jobs by what their area of study or interest is. Some internships are also available.

To access the student database, students can visit the Career Services homepage at   www.collin.edu/studentresources/career/.  In addition to job searches, Career Services also offers career assessment testing, interview coaching and résumé writing.
