Six—yes, six –Collin College alumni are currently working on Broadway. Alumna Elizabeth Judd is performing in the 2016 Tony award-winning “Best Musical”—Hamilton. The 2016 Pulitzer-prize winning Broadway musical recently received a whopping 11 Tony awards.

And that’s not all. Five other Collin alumni are working on Broadway hits. Cory Boulieris is a sub assistant stage manager for She Loves Me. Brendan Quigley has traveled all over the world with openings of Wicked. Andrew Serna is a project coordinator and works in investor relations for the Broadway shows Jersey Boys and Matilda. Ragan Pharris recently made her Broadway debut in the Waitress, which features music and lyrics from Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles. Akron Watson is performing in the Tony-award-winning “Best Revival of a Musical” The Color Purple. By the way, if you ask Akron for a highlight of his Broadway experience, he might mention singing with producer Oprah Winfrey. Speaking of theatre alumni, just a hop, skip and a jump in an off-Broadway theater, Collin alumnus James Ortiz recently learned he was awarded an Obie Award for his puppetry design on The Woodsman.
