Collin College and Texas A&M University-Commerce Partner for Ribbon Cutting in Frisco

Oct. 18, 2019 – Collin College and Texas A&M University-Commerce (A&M-Commerce) have joined forces to hold a ribbon cutting ceremony from noon-1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the Collin College Frisco Campus (Preston Ridge) Conference Center. The event celebrates A&M-Commerce’s approval to serve as a full off-site campus in Frisco by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. A&M-Commerce’s site is housed at the Collin College Frisco Campus (Preston Ridge), 9700 Wade Boulevard in Frisco.

Now, A&M-Commerce students attending the Collin College Frisco Campus (Preston Ridge) will have the opportunity to earn the following degrees: a Bachelor of Business Administration in General Business, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Analytics, a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness, and a Bachelor of Social Work.

Starting Spring 2020, Collin College will offer two new bachelor’s degrees. Collin College students will have the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Applied Technology (BAT) in Cybersecurity degree at the college’s Frisco Campus (Preston Ridge) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree at the McKinney Campus (Central Park).

Collin College has a long history of strong partnerships with area universities and is home to a university center, the Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC). Located in McKinney, the CHEC houses five university partners including Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University, Texas Woman’s University, University of North Texas, and The University of Texas at Dallas. The college’s university partners offer a variety of classes which lead to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

Collin College serves more than 59,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates. The only public college based in Collin County, Collin College is a partner to business, government and industry, providing customized training and workforce development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which has an enrollment of 3,500 each year in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M Commerce, Texas Tech, and the University of North Texas.
