May 1, 2020 – The National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) has selected Collin College to host its Division I Men’s Tennis Championships in 2021 and 2023. The national championship tournament will be held at Collin College’s Plano Campus.

“Collin College is excited to host the NJCAA DI Men’s Tennis Championship in 2021 and 2023,” said Dr. Neil Matkin, Collin College District President. “We love the opportunity to bring the top teams in community college tennis together on our courts and we look forward to seeing, and playing, some great matches.”

Collin College, which plays in Division I, hosted DI, DII, and DIII national championship tournaments for 16 years through 2018. It was the host of the Division I championships from 2005-2018, the DII tournament in 2003 and 2004, and Division III from 2003-2018.

Tyler Junior College will host the championship tournament in 2022.

Collin College serves more than 59,000 credit and continuing education students annually and offers more than 100 degrees and certificates, including new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Bachelor of Applied Technology in Cybersecurity (BAT) degrees. The only public college based in Collin County, Collin College is a partner to business, government, and industry, providing customized training and workforce development. In addition, the college operates the Collin Higher Education Center, which has an enrollment of more than 3,300 each year in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, Texas Woman’s University, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Tech University and the University of North Texas.
