KIP Lecture on Immigration

Don’t miss the spring Knowledge is Power (KIP) public lecture series “It’s All Greek To Me: Immigration through the Lens of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” The 27th KIP lecture will be held from 1-2 p.m., Wednesday, April 17 at the Frisco Campus Conference Center.

Join Dr. Tracey McKenzie, professor of sociology, and Dr. Monica S. Gallamore, professor of history, as they share ideas regarding the current realities and rhetoric surrounding immigration and reveal the fact that the discourse about immigration and immigrants is not new. By viewing stories in the film, you will have the opportunity to see the similarities and continuity of the immigrant experience through time and culture.

Check out this video on the KIP topic “Gene Editing: Virtue or Vice” with Dr. Amy Helms, biology professor, and Kimberly O’Neil, political science professor .
