Collin College Celebrates International Year of the Periodic Table

April 03, 2019- The United Nations General Assembly announced 2019 as the International Year of the Periodic Table of Elements, and Collin College is commemorating the 150th anniversary of the periodic table with a celebration from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, April 11 at the college’s Plano Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy.

Hosted by the college’s Chemistry Department, the event is free and open to the public. The celebration will include guest speaker Dr. John Sibert, from The University of Texas at Dallas, a periodic-table-related trivia game, light food and fun prizes. Students from all campuses will have the opportunity to create element tiles that will be displayed at the Plano Campus.
